Initiatives Reports on sexuality and relationships of the Poles Health Grant Art Calendar In Women’s Interest

For a number of years, we have been discussing topics that truly matter – the health, relationships and sexuality of the Poles. Our social research serves as a starting point, creating space for reflection, dialogue and tangible change. Take a look at the topics we’ve explored.

The Sexual Map of Poland

In this study, commissioned by Gedeon Richter Poland, 1,076 women aged 18–69, representing diverse regions, town sizes and education levels, shared insights into their intimate lives.

What do women in Poland expect from their sexuality today? While more women are becoming aware of their bodies and needs, many still face cultural and emotional constraints. Some 95% of respondents declare that they are sexually active and, on average, report having had four sexual partners. Sexual initiation also happens earlier among younger generations – at around the age of seventeen – compared with their mothers, who typically began having sex in their twenties.

The study suggests that sex has become more integrated into everyday life, although its frequency declines with age. In the 56–69 age group, 45% of women say they have sex at most once a month. The most popular time for intimacy remains Saturday evening, associated with rest and closeness.

The report also helps break taboos around masturbation. Some 58% of women admit to self-pleasure, and one in five says they find it easier to reach orgasm alone than with a partner. For many, it is a way to relax and understand themselves better. At the same time, respondents acknowledge obstacles affecting their intimate lives, most commonly fatigue, low mood, relationship difficulties and stress. While women in Poland speak about sex more openly than before, many are still seeking balance between a desire for closeness and the pressures of everyday life.
