Calendar theme for 2024: “Her Portrait”
The strength and wisdom of women inspired the creators of the 13th edition of the Gedeon Richter Polska Art Calendar. This time, the artists’ task was to portray outstanding Polish women and their distinctly female personalities. The women depicted evoke wisdom, love, an ethereal quality and a sense of humour. As a result, the project forms a complete work that is rich in inspiration. The renowned graphic designer Andrzej Pągowski continues as Artistic Director.

Calendar theme for 2022: “Women’s Energy”
“Women’s Energy” marked the 11th edition of the Calendar, created by Gedeon Richter under the artistic direction of Andrzej Pągowski. This year’s pages were inspired by women whose names have been written into world history. Each participating artist was assigned one of twelve extraordinary women to portray, which gave each artwork its own vitality and visual impact, while also reflecting our mission:

Calendar theme for 2020: “Women Through Men’s Eyes”
The 9th edition once again placed women at the centre, this time seen from the male perspective. Twelve sensitive, exceptional artists shared their emotions and experiences connected with femininity. Through the calendar pages, they spoke about how they perceive women and the significance of women’s presence. The result was a beautiful calendar celebrating women’s wisdom, beauty and courage.
2019
Calendar theme for 2019: “In Her Own Words”
The 2019 calendar told women’s stories; this time, it was illustrated entirely by Andrzej Pągowski, the project’s Artistic Director. He invited twelve outstanding, inspiring and diverse women to take part – women with a voice who are not afraid to use it. Their words became Pągowski’s inspiration for twelve artworks, forming the 8th edition of the calendar.
2018
Calendar theme for 2018: “Women’s Matters”
The 7th edition showed that being a woman today is both a challenge and a source of joy, fulfilment and self-realisation. The monthly pages, created by twelve recognised poster artists, depicted women’s everyday lives. Their work proved that the phrase “the weaker sex” misses the mark; there is no difficulty women cannot overcome.
2017
Calendar theme for 2017: “Faces of Women”
What are women like? How do we really see them? Twelve outstanding photographers sought answers to these questions through images. The 2017 calendar presented twelve portraits of contemporary women in different roles. The works ranged from women captured in unique life moments to portraits set against the backdrop of ordinary daily life. Thanks to the photographers’ varied perspectives, the resulting portraits were always different and always intriguing.
2016
Calendar theme for 2016: “Women About Women”
We usually know what men think about women but how do women see each other? In 2016, twelve versatile and diverse female artists explored this question through their work. Quotes from well-known women, including writer Gabriela Zapolska, politician Margaret Thatcher and fashion designer Coco Chanel, provided the starting point for the creators.
2015
Calendar theme for 2015: “Man – that sounds proud!”
Can thoughtless pride in being the most “perfect” creature on Earth become a trap? Twelve contemporary satirical artists took on Maxim Gorky’s quote “Man – that sounds proud!”, presenting their vision of 21st century humanity in a distorted mirror. The calendar combined irony, sarcasm and reflection but, above all, excellent humour and perspective.
2014
Calendar theme for 2014: “Health”
“A healthy mind in a healthy body” appeared on the August page of the 2014 calendar. The theme was no coincidence: health is the most important pillar of Gedeon Richter’s work. It became the starting point for twelve Polish illustrators to create memorable images that contributed to the wider conversation about health and life.
