In Women’s Interest

Initiatives Reports on sexuality and relationships of the Poles Health Grant Art Calendar In Women’s Interest

The aim of the In Women’s Interest campaign is to encourage all women in Poland to attend regular gynaecological check-ups and to raise awareness of their right to equal access to basic healthcare services, including gynaecological and obstetric care, regardless of age, financial situation or place of residence. As a company committed to supporting women and their health, we feel a strong responsibility to take meaningful action to help remove the barriers that still prevent many women from accessing gynaecological care.

Each year, the campaign focuses on a different theme, addressing a specific challenge faced by women. Discover the topics we have explored across individual editions.

2024 – 6th Edition – Theme: “Tell Her About It”

The 6th edition of the campaign was launched on World Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day. For yet another year, our mobile gynaecological clinic set out on a nationwide tour. The slogan “Tell Her About It” highlighted the importance of open conversations with loved ones, which can help overcome the fear of preventive examinations.

According to our report “How Polish Women and Men Talk About Intimate Health”,* more than half of women had not undergone a gynaecological ultrasound or cervical smear test in the previous year. Twelve per cent of women living in rural areas admitted that they do not visit a gynaecologist at all. At the same time, one in two women reminds other women close to her about preventive examinations. Those who do not do so most often cite privacy (32%) or believe that “everyone is responsible for their own health” (28%). Conversely, as many as 70% of respondents agreed that an open conversation with a person close to them could help overcome fear of preventive tests.

This edition of In Women’s Interest reinforced the importance of preventive gynaecological examinations and enabled women to undergo them free of charge; it also encouraged conversations among women to help break taboos, and promoted discussion by men. Research results show that men often struggle to talk about the intimate health of women close to them, as they fear crossing boundaries and feel they lack sufficient knowledge and confidence in this area.
The mobile clinic used during this edition was adapted to the needs of women with disabilities. Free consultations were offered alongside a package of gynaecological tests, including breast examinations, gynaecological ultrasounds and liquid-based cytology. As a result, 382 women were able to benefit from free preventive care in 2024 and, perhaps, take the first step towards more open conversations about their health.

* Research methodology: CAWI (Computer-Assisted Web Interviewing) – an online survey conducted using the SWpanel.pl research panel. Sample: women (70%) and men (30%) aged 18 and over. A total of 1,005 questionnaires were completed with respondents from the SW Research panel. Fieldwork period: 8–18 March 2024.
