In Women’s Interest

Initiatives Reports on sexuality and relationships of the Poles Health Grant Art Calendar In Women’s Interest

The aim of the In Women’s Interest campaign is to encourage all women in Poland to attend regular gynaecological check-ups and to raise awareness of their right to equal access to basic healthcare services, including gynaecological and obstetric care, regardless of age, financial situation or place of residence. As a company committed to supporting women and their health, we feel a strong responsibility to take meaningful action to help remove the barriers that still prevent many women from accessing gynaecological care.

Each year, the campaign focuses on a different theme, addressing a specific challenge faced by women. Discover the topics we have explored across individual editions.

1st Edition – Theme: “Get Checked – In Women’s Interest!”

The very 1st edition of the campaign aimed to expand women’s knowledge of the importance of prevention in intimate health. To reach women who may have limited access to gynaecological and obstetric services, we launched our Ginobus – a mobile gynaecology clinic. It was the first initiative of its kind, giving patients the opportunity to access free medical consultations and a wide range of examinations.

A 2017 report by Poland’s Supreme Audit Office (NIK)* clearly indicated that equal access to outpatient gynaecological and obstetric services was lacking in Poland. To explore the issue in greater depth, we commissioned an additional study,** which showed that women most often visit a gynaecologist for the first time because of pregnancy. Over three million women in Poland book appointments with this specialist less often than once a year, or not at all, and 40% do not see any need for such visits.

The main objective of the 1st edition was, therefore, to build awareness that all women in Poland have the right to access basic healthcare services, including gynaecology and obstetrics, which are particularly important for women’s health. We also set out to enable women in the Mazovia region to complete essential preventive examinations.

For the first time, our mobile clinic hit the road. We visited eight towns in Mazovia, where women could take advantage of free consultations and preventive gynaecological examinations (smear test, transvaginal ultrasound and breast ultrasound). The response confirmed that the initiative was genuinely needed. In the pilot 1st edition, 291 women were screened, and eighteen were referred to hospital for further examinations. This is why we decided to continue the project in subsequent years – because it has the power to make a real difference to women’s health. And we are always pleased when we can act… in women’s interest.
